The Second Digital Preservation Challenge could be fun for some of the people reading this blog, and the first prize is 3000 euros. I just found out about it, but there isn't much time left; the deadline for entries is the end of July. Participation requires joining the DPE user community at no charge.

For some reason I really want to recast the first scenario as a text adventure game:

You are in an old storeroom.

LOOK

There is a dusty reel of magnetic tape here.

EXAMINE TAPE

The label "Master Backup" suggests that is highly valuable.

MOUNT TAPE

There are four types of files on it, one 
type of text documents, one type of graphics 
and two unknown file types.
