The state of ODF
InfoWorld reports that while Open Document Format (ODF) is catching on quite well among governments, it isn't getting much interest in the business world.
Perhaps it's easier for governments to mandate switches from on high and thus overcome the inertia of Microsoft formats. Perhaps OpenOffice has shot itself in the foot by promising Microsoft compatibility, when Microsoft doesn't promise the converse (though it is working on it). Businesses generally prefer a course that minimizes unnecessary risk.
