BigTIFF
BigTIFF is a modified version of TIFF which has 64-bit offsets, allowing larger files. A project to implement it in LibTiff now has the sponsors needed to get the work done. Work in LibTiff 4.0, which will support BigTIFF, is planned to start in March.
