Open Document is ISO standard
The Open Document Format has been formalized as an ISO standard. The Open Document Alliance announcement is available here as a PDF file (147K). The ISO page for Open Document Format describes the standard as still "under development."
One of the backing organizations is OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), which has nothing to do with Harvard's OASIS, mentioned in a previous post.
