Support for OpenDocument growing
Support for OpenDocument is growing on various fronts. A consortium, the Open Document Fellowship, has recently formed. Its stated goals include "providing factual information about the Open Document Format, such as the degree to which companies and their products are committed to supporting the format, and making sure that OpenDocument can be always supported by any software application or company".
In other news, Bob Sutor, IBM's vice president of standards and open source, is encouraging activity to urge software companies and governments to support the OpenDocument format.
