Digital Cinema
The new Digital Cinema (PDF) specification looks remarkably clean, being based on published standards such as JPEG 2000, XML, and Broadcast Wave. (Well, I'm not entirely sure about the cleanliness of the last.) This should help make Digital Cinema movies archivable over the long term.

Recently there was a comment spam here trying to con people into buying "InterFinancial Holdings, Corp (IFLH)". Readers should be aware that such spams are "pump-and-dump" frauds, in which the spammer talks up the price of the stock, sells off the shares which he's acquired or issued to fools who believe him, and chuckles as the price collapses afterward.
